Australia's national men's basketball team has returned to Perth for two Australian-exclusive matches in an exciting stage of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) World Cup Asian Qualifiers.

Secured by the Cook Labor Government through Tourism WA, the Boomers will take on Guam on Friday, 3 July and the Philippines on Monday, 6 July at RAC Arena, launching a crucial phase in their qualification journey for the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup.

Adding to the excitement is a mix of high profile and Western Australian talent within the 12-man Boomers squad, including six-time NBL MVP and former Perth Wildcats star Bryce Cotton, current and former Wildcats Keanu Pinder, Ben Henshall, and Elijah Pepper, and Perth-raised standouts Alex Condon and Wani Swaka Lo Buluk.

Final tickets are available for the exciting series, which marks the Boomers' first appearance in Perth in almost seven years, and the first time Western Australia will host FIBA World Cup Qualifier fixtures, bringing elite international basketball to Australia's west coast.

The two-match series is the only opportunity for fans to see the Boomers compete in Australia during the Third Window of the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers - concluding Round One of the qualifiers which determines the teams that will advance to Round Two.

The Australian-exclusive, high-stakes matches are expected to attract visiting fans to Western Australia, delivering strong economic benefits and supporting the Cook Government's economic diversification strategy, as well as local jobs, tourism, and hospitality businesses.

The matches will be broadcast live in Australia via official broadcast partner ESPN, along with affiliated streaming partners Disney+ and Kayo Sports, showcasing Western Australia to audiences around the world. The Australia v Philippines clash will also air on free-to-air television in the Philippines.

As stated by Tourism Minister Reece Whitby:

"The Boomers' return to Perth for the first time since 2019 is a fantastic moment for Western Australia and I encourage everyone to get their hands on tickets to watch this team in action.

"Having a squad with such strong Western Australian ties, alongside fan favourites like Bryce Cotton, makes this series even more special for local fans.

"Welcoming this elite international sporting competition to RAC Arena not only gives fans the chance to see the Boomers up close but also reinforces our State's reputation as a world-class events destination.

"Major events like this play an important role in diversifying our economy drawing visitors, supporting local businesses, and creating jobs across tourism and hospitality."
