Booralee Park Playground Update: Bayside

Council has agreed to incorporate a fitness station as well as cycle and walking paths in the concept design for the new Booralee Park playground that will soon be on public exhibition.

Booralee Park is a well-used and popular park that currently includes a large playground (Daniel Street), a separate small, fenced playground (Bay Street), BBQ and picnic facilities, a full-sized basketball court, cricket practice nets, 2 amenities buildings and the Botany War Memorial.

The renewed playspace will be designed for families and groups with different aged children, allowing parents and carers to supervise and assist all children within the one location.

Booralee Park also supports a district-level sports field, drawing users from a wide area of Botany and adjoining suburbs as well as users associated with the organised sporting usage of the park, the aquatic centre, local schools, and pre-schools.

Incorporating a fitness station, as well as cycling and walking paths, into the park will help promote a healthy lifestyle among park users while complementing the existing facilities.

Community engagement for the playground concept design is anticipated to take place in April 2024.
