Councillor Brad Bunting has been re-elected Mayor of Blacktown City following a vote of Councillors at Wednesday night's Council meeting.
Councillor Robert Fitzgerald OAM was elected Deputy Mayor.
Mayor Bunting thanked Councillors for their support and said his focus would be on continuing the work already under way across the city.
"It is a privilege to continue as Mayor of Blacktown City and I thank my fellow Councillors for their support," Mayor Bunting said.
"Two years ago, I spoke about the opportunities and challenges ahead of us. Those challenges have not become any smaller, but we have made progress."
"Projects that were being planned are now under construction, and new facilities are opening across the city."
Work is under way across Council's $273.3 million Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants program, including the Mount Druitt Community Library and Hub and the expansion of Mount Druitt PCYC at Shalvey.
The $15 million Blacktown Disability Sports Centre opened at Blacktown International Sports Park in October 2025, while early work has started on the $2.5 billion Blacktown Quarter development.
Mayor Bunting said Council's job was to keep those projects moving while maintaining the services and infrastructure residents use every day.
"Blacktown City is now home to about 460,000 people and our population is growing by around 12,000 each year," Mayor Bunting said.
"That growth puts more pressure on our roads, parks, libraries, sporting facilities and other services."
"We will keep pushing for better transport, including the missing Metro connection between Tallawong and St Marys, and for government funding that keeps pace with our city's growth."
"There is plenty of work still to do, and I look forward to getting on with it."
Mayor Bunting has served as a Blacktown City Councillor since 2016 and was first elected Mayor in May 2024.
