Major upgrades to the rest area public toilets at Bredbo's Centennial Park are complete. The renovated stop on the Monaro Hwy reopened in late June 2026, in time for the peak winter ski season.

The Council-led project is a direct response to public concerns about one of the busiest rest stops in the region. With more than 100,000 visitors each year, it was a high priority that problems with the aging site were addressed.

Upgrades include

  • New wall panels
  • New door covers featuring local imagery
  • Replaced door hardware
  • New urinal
  • Fresh floor paint
  • Better bin enclosures
  • New mirrors
  • New baby change table
  • New rural-themed gender silhouette signs

The new design elements were chosen to give the facility a real sense of place. The use of local imagery serves to highlight and celebrate Bredbo's unique village character, and help make visitors to the region feel welcome.

Visitors can now enjoy a clean, modern, and welcoming facility on their way to the snow.

This project was funded by a grant from the Australian Government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.

Project delivered by Snowy Monaro Regional Council.
