Buckle up for a free child seat fitting at JMC
Experts will show Playford parents how to buckle up safely at a free child seat restraint fitting service at the John McVeity Centre (JMC) this Friday.

Charitable foundation, Cops for Kids, has partnered with Kidsafe SA to provide the service across the state.

The service will be at the JMC, Smithfield Plains, on Friday 17 February 2023 from 9am to 4:30pm.

Despite high levels of restraint use by child vehicle occupants in Australia, as well as having some of the most stringent restraint standards in the world, approximately 40-70 children are killed as passengers and thousands more are injured on Australian roads every year.

Kidsafe SA CEO, Holly Fitzgerald, said the best crash protection is provided when the restraint suits the age and size of the wearer, and when the restraint is installed and used correctly.

"We are taking our expertise on the road and with the support from Cops for Kids we will be providing families with a free child restraint fitting service across the state, including regional and remote locations, over the next three years," Holly said.

City of Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty said the service was an effective out-reach program spreading an important and simple message: check your child's car seat.

"I encourage all parents and guardians to book in and get their child seats checked through this free and accessible service," said Mayor Docherty.
