Business School continues to benchmark among world's best

The University of Sydney Business School has consolidated its position among the world's leading providers of business education with EQUIS re-accreditation for five years.

The highly respected Brussels-based accreditation body, European Foundation for Management Development Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), benchmarks management education providers by assessing institutions as a whole. This includes assessment of all programs and awards from bachelor's degrees through to postdoctoral studies.

The University of Sydney Business School was first awarded accreditation in 2004 and has continued to hold EQUIS accreditation ever since.

Professor Greg Whitwell, Dean of the University of Sydney Business School.

The Dean of the University of Sydney Business School, Professor Greg Whitwell, welcomed the news and described it as a 'seal of approval' for the School's strategic direction.

"This highly prestigious accreditation reaffirms our reputation as one of the world's leading providers of quality management education," Professor Whitwell said.

"The University of Sydney Business School has pursued a strategic vision of business not as usual since 2016, questioning the status quo and challenging assumptions through our teaching and research.

The contribution that business schools and universities make in building future leaders with critical thinking skills has never been more important.

"The contribution that business schools and universities make in building future leaders with critical thinking skills has never been more important and is a source of pride for our community."

The EQUIS Peer Review Team made the decision to reaccredit the School for a further five years, which is the maximum term possible and called the Business School a "pioneer of innovation".

In its assessment, the Peer Review Team recognised the School's high standing, both domestically and internationally. This was attributable to many factors including quality faculty staff, world-class research, outstanding students, and graduate success.

There are currently 193 EQUIS accredited schools in 45 different countries including HEC Paris, Stockholm School of Economics and National University of Singapore.

Last year, the University of Sydney Business School achieved 'triple crown' status, with accreditations from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
