Car stolen from Olinda aggravated burglary

Police are investigating an aggravated burglary that occurred in Olinda this morning.

Investigators have been told two offenders broke into the property on Range Road about 3am.

A 44-year-old man who was home at the time confronted the pair and one of the offenders stabbed the man in the back.

The pair then stolen the victim's 2008 grey Audi sedan which had been parked in the driveway of the property.

Police followed the vehicle for some time as it travelled west along Burwood Road, then onto Ferntree Gully Road.

The Audi was last seen travelling south on Eastlink about 3.15am.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
