Cardiff University has again improved its position in the QS World Rankings, rising two places to 179th in the world.
The climb builds on last year's increase and cements Cardiff's position among the very best institutions globally.
Stand out areas for Cardiff are sustainability, ranking 83rd in the world (top 5% globally) for our social and environmental impact, and our actions in creating a more sustainable existence; and a top 10% global rank for our success in creating and sustaining research partnerships with institutions in other countries.
Other areas of improvement came in academic reputation with a top 10% global position, and citations per faculty which saw a top 25% global position.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wendy Larner said: "This small but sustained rise reflects the hard work of a Cardiff community that is forward looking and whose work is changing the world now and for future generations.
"Our decisions, our collaborations and the research we choose to pursue are focused around this mission and I'm delighted to see areas we prioritise, for example our international work and commitment to sustainability, coming through in these data."
I'm proud of everyone in our community whose excellence has been recognised in this league table.
The QS World Rankings is one of most-consulted independent evaluations of the world's top universities.
This year more than 1,500 institutions were ranked. Institutions are ranked on nine measures including Academic Reputation, Sustainability and Citations.
