Career And Job Matching At DSE Fair Lyngby 2024

Technical University of Denmark

This year's DSE fair, which was held over two days, saw the DTU campus in Lyngby packed with students and companies. The fair was an opportunity to learn more about the career opportunities in different fields, find a good internship, or land either a permanent or student job.

As part of the fair, a large marquee had been erected to create space for even more stands and reps from the more than 150 participating companies.

The two-day event saw panel discussions that included the following participants: Christina Egelund, Danish Minister for Higher Education and Science, Lars D. Christoffersen, Senior Vice President and Dean of Studies and Student Affairs at DTU, Mikkel Berrig Rasmussen, Chair of the Polyteknisk Forening (PF student association), and Klara Lykkegaard-Ginsbo, steering committee member of DTU Feminist Forum.

On the hunt for a project partner

Camilla Zacho Larsen, who is studying for an MSc in Biomaterial Engineering for Medicine, was at the fair to find a business partner with whom she can write a preliminary project for her MSc thesis.

"I'm here to find out what the various medico companies can offer in connection with a preliminary project for my thesis, and also to connect with the participating companies," she says.

Julie Hanne Kurtz, who is studying for an MSc in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, wanted to get an idea of which companies could be a good match when she graduates as a chemical engineer.

"There is still a year to go before I write my MSc thesis, so I'm really just here to see which companies are participating and to find out more about my future career prospects," says Julie Hanne Kurtz.

Tobias Frederik Bro is in his fourth semester of the BEng programme in Mechanical Engineering. He visited the fair to find an internship, and established contact with reps from several companies that employ mechanical engineers.

"I'm looking for an internship, and have now found a lot of interesting companies that offer them, so now I'm going home to write some applications," he says.
