Charges Laid After Multi-Vehicle Crash in Strathfield

A man will face court today charged following a multi-vehicle crash in Strathfield overnight.

About 6.50pm (Tuesday 11 July 2023), emergency services were called to Liverpool Road, Strathfield, following reports of a six-car crash.

Five men – aged 28, 24, 30, 41 and 28 – were treated on scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before they were taken to Concord and Royal Prince Alfred hospitals in a stable condition.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command established a crime scene, as the Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Following inquiries, a 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Auburn Police Station.

He was charged with drive conveyance taken without consent of owner, fail to stop and render assistance, five counts of cause bodily harm by misconduct in charge of motor vehicle, and possess prohibited drug.

The Greenacre man was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Wednesday 12 July 2023).
