China-Arab Pact Boosts Meteorological Science Ties

From August 28 to 29, an event for promotingcooperation between China and Arab States in meteorological high-quality development was held in Yinchuan, Ningxia, China.

A series of pragmatic cooperation initiatives were launched, such as jointestablishment of Meteorological Satellite Data Application Center by the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and National Center of Meteorology, the United Arab Emirates (UAE); joint research and development program of MAZU(Multihazard Alert, Zero Gap, Universal)-China's solution of UN Early Warnings for All Initiativeby CMA and National Meteorological and Hydrological Services (NMHSs)of Jordan and other countries; and the joint development of meteorological artificial intelligencemodelsby CMA and the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA).
