Chris Train OBE named Interim Chair of NDA

Chris Train OBE, currently a member of the NDA Board, will take on the role of NDA Chair on an interim basis on 1 September 2023, succeeding Dr Ros Rivaz whose term as Chair ends on 31 August 2023.

The Government has now launched a formal process to recruit a permanent successor. The role of NDA Chair is an appointment made by the Secretary of State at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero in consultation with Scottish Ministers.

I have been part of the NDA Board for 18 months now and have seen first-hand how our work to clean-up the UK's nuclear legacy safely, securely, and sustainably is vitally important and provides a unique opportunity for us to leave a positive lasting legacy for generations to come.

I am committed to continuing to drive our mission forward, ensuring we deliver it with care for our people, communities and the environment.

Chris has over 38 years' experience in the Energy, Utilities, Regulation and Infrastructure sectors.

He has held CEO, senior project management, operations and business development roles at Cadent, National Grid, Transco and Lattice. Chris has also sat on European and international committees covering a variety of subjects including regulation, commercial and infrastructure development.

The NDA are charged, on behalf of government, with the mission to clean-up the UK's 17 earliest nuclear sites safely, securely, and cost effectively.
