Compassion for those doing it tough at this time of year and the Christmas spirit is at the core of the 2026 Hobsons Bay Christmas Drive, as it returns for another year to help families and struggling community members in Hobsons Bay.

Donations of non-perishable food items and toys will be packaged into hampers and distributed to local people experiencing hardship.

In 2025 nearly 3,400 individual non-perishable items were donated along with 415 gifts and toys, making up 95 hampers, with a goal of providing more hampers to families in need across Hobsons Bay this year.

Donations are open until 11 December, with donation boxes located at:

  • all Council libraries and community centres
  • Altona police station
  • BayFit Leisure Centre in Altona North
  • Jim's Self Storage in Williamstown.

The Drive is delivered by Laverton Community Integrated Services, with support from Hobsons Bay City Council and other local partners.
