Miami, United States of America - The International Training Centre for Authorities and Leaders in Miami (CIFAL Miami) is pleased to announce the upcoming Emergency Preparedness and Management Workshop, organized in partnership with Outreach Aid to the Americas (OAA) and Florida International University (FIU).
Taking place at the FIU Modesto A. Maidique Campus, this two-day, in-person workshop will bring together airport professionals, emergency management experts, government officials, private sector representatives, industry leaders, and community stakeholders from across the Caribbean and the United States.
The workshop seeks to strengthen regional coordination and response capabilities as natural disasters, climate risks, and security threats continue to intensify. Participants will engage in interactive sessions to share best practices, foster strategic partnerships, and explore innovative solutions for enhancing emergency preparedness and resilience.
Key areas of focus include:
- Effective emergency response planning
- Addressing the needs of persons with disabilities and older adults
- Community engagement during crises
- Resource acquisition and allocation
- Continuity of operations during emergencies
In addition to expert presentations, the workshop features hands-on tabletop exercises with real-world scenarios and practical applications to strengthen airport resilience and emergency coordination. A free cybersecurity seminar will also be offered on 6 October (2:00-5:00 PM) for registered participants.
