Federal Coalition policies to provide new tax cuts and rebates for small businesses have been welcomed by the Tasmanian Government.
Minister for Hospitality and Small Business, Jane Howlett, said that reducing the tax burden on new businesses in their first years would provide meaningful support for enterprises as they get started.
"Our small businesses and entrepreneurs are the engine room of our economy, and we want to create the very best business conditions for them," Minister Howlett said.
"The new tax support and rebates, together with making asset write-offs permanent, would help do just that.
"At a State level, we are taking the shackles off by cutting unnecessary red tape, to say yes to more new business opportunities.
"These important Federal Coalition policy announcements will support new businesses when they are most vulnerable.
"As outlined in our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's Future, we want to see businesses growing and thriving, providing purposeful opportunities for our young people," Minister Howlett said.
