Community engagement consultation closes soon

We're making positive changes to the ways we include our community in Council decision making.

Our Community and Stakeholder Engagement Policy sets the rules for when, why and how we'll ask what you think about something that affects you, so you can contribute to the Council decisions made about it.

Feedback from 241 community members has already been incorporated into the Policy. The final phase of consultation must close on 10 January 2021 to meet Local Government Act deadlines.

Improvements in the draft Policy include:

  • Ensuring people affected by a project can have a say
  • Publishing more comprehensive information, including budgets
  • Offering support and promoting fairness and equality
  • Better reporting back on results and decisions.
