Community satisfaction in Council's focus

Eurobodalla Council is asking members of the community how satisfied they are with a range of Council services.

Using well-known research company Micromex, telephone calls will start this week to land lines and mobiles seeking 400 residents to participate in the 15-minute survey.

Results from the survey will allow Council to make decisions based on community priorities and satisfaction, with General Manager Warwick Winn saying a clear understanding of the community's priorities is more important than ever as the Council faces financial challenges ahead.

"Participants will be asked for their views on Council's services so we can gauge how we're going, and make sure we're placing our resources where they are most needed and valued," Mr Winn said.

"The survey will replicate those completed in previous years so we can look for trends and adjust our services as required."

Example questions will include asking residents to rate the importance and their satisfaction with of a range of services – everything from environmental management to roads to business development and youth services. What they think of Council's general performance and what they think about living in the Eurobodalla will also be covered.

Micromex staff will always identify themselves at the start of the call. They will not ask for information that could be used to identify individuals, nor will they ask for information about money or bank details.

They will ask for demographic information that helps analysis of the results across ages, living arrangements and localities.

Mr Winn said results will be presented to councillors, staff and the community once the survey and analysis is complete.
