Community supports Expo

Hundreds of people took advantage of the perfect weather and came down to Bangerang Park in Corowa on Thursday 19 October for the inaugural Federation Community Expo.

Mayor Pat Bourke said the event was "fantastic."

He said the large number of stalls reflected the many community groups, clubs and service providers that are available and reverberated that there really in something for everyone in the Federation Council area.

"It was great to see so many community groups embrace this opportunity and even better to see so many members of the public coming along, to find out what the community has to offer, "said Mayor Pat Bourke. "Many organisations have said that they have gained a lot of exposure with a different cohort of people that they would otherwise not have. "

The Federation Community Expo was hosted by the Federation Council and organised by a working group made up of local service providers and council staff including Tracey Barkley and Amber Murphy, Intereach Corowa, Jenn Pelger MLHD Farm Councillor, Martin Clarke, Supported Plus and Amber Harvey, Federation Council.

The aim of the expo was to showcase to residents and visitors, what is available locally and how they can connect to community groups, sporting clubs, or services.
