Construction of Zuccoli Primary School Stage 2 Reaches New Milestone

The Territory's newest school has reached an important milestone with the first slab poured for the Stage 2 general learning area.

Local business Sunbuild were awarded the $18 million tender to build Stage 2 of Zuccoli Primary School, which is supporting more than 100 local jobs.

The Territory Labor Government fast-tracked the construction of the new government school last year to cater for the demand on public school education in Palmerston — the NT's fastest growing region.

Stage 2 of the project includes:

  • 8 additional classrooms;
  • An administration building; and
  • A library.

It also includes facilities to be shared with the adjoining Mother Theresa Catholic School. This includes the science, home economics and music rooms, a multipurpose hall and a sports oval.

Once this part of the project is complete the $30 million government school will cater for 432 primary students and up to 88 pre-schoolers.

Zuccoli Primary School is open now and accepting enrolments, with the pre-school already at capacity this year.

Stage 2 of the project will be completed and ready to open for Term 1, 2021.
