With wet conditions bringing dramatic change in many parts of the Murray Darling Basin, the Commonwealth Environmental Water Office is holding two webinars to shine a light on waterbird breeding, native fish populations and use of water for the environment during wet conditions.
'From Droughts to Flooding Rains' themed webinars will be held 7 March at 7pm and 8 March at 12pm - as part of the webinar series 'A conversation with the CEWH'.
The Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder (CEWH), Hilton Taylor, will be joined by Local Engagement Officer Jason Wilson who will talk about bird breeding at Dharriwaa (Narran Lakes) and Charles Sturt University Associate Professor in Ecology Skye Wassens who will discuss her work in the Murrumbidgee.
Mr Taylor said community members, Traditional Owners, farmers, fishers, business owners, students and other interested people are all invited to attend the webinar.
"The webinar is the perfect opportunity to hear about our work and also to ask questions and receive answers in real time.
"The CEWO works extensively with Basin communities, First Nations people, water managers, industry representatives and recreational organisations. We value the opportunity to have a conversation with people from right across the Basin.
"Healthy rivers mean healthy communities and we're committed to working collaboratively to achieve the best results possible during both dry and wet times," he said.
