A 17-year-old male from Port Kennedy has been charged by Sex Assault Squad detectives following an incident in Cooloongup yesterday afternoon, 29 March 2022.
It will be alleged that at approximately 2:15pm he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl near the Rockingham Train Station.
Just after 3pm he was apprehended by police and police dog Digga on Council Avenue after a foot chase.
Sex Assault Squad detectives will also allege that on 27 March 2022, the male attempted to sexually assault a 63-year-old woman as she walked through an underpass under Read Street, Rockingham.
The male has been charged with:
- Two counts of Aggravated Sexual Penetration without Consent
- One count of Attempted Aggravated Sexual Penetration without Consent
- One count of Aggravated Robbery.
He will appear in the Perth Children's Court today, 30 March 2022.
