Dubbo Regional Council's 2026/2027 Budget and Operational Plan and associated documents have been adopted, with Councillors considering community feedback following the public exhibition period.
During the June Ordinary Council meeting, Councillors adopted the budget and operational plan for the year ahead.
"This provides a clear direction on the projects and programs we are going to deliver for our community over the next 12 months," Dubbo Regional Council Mayor Josh Black said.
"We undertook a comprehensive community engagement program during the public exhibition period to encourage the community to have their say on what was proposed in the draft 2026/2027 Budget."
"We received 23 submissions covering multiple topics and points of interest. These submissions were valuable in the decision-making process," Clr Black said.
During the Council meeting, and following the exhibition, Councillors determined to amend the 2026/2027 Fees and Charges for Cattle Feeding Fee – per head.
During the meeting they adjusted the charge to $0.30 with a 3 per cent annual increase, for stock sold in the Dubbo Regional Livestock Market.
They also called for a report to be brought back to Council in April 2027 reviewing the impact and efficiency of the new charges to the feeding fees for the Dubbo Regional Livestock Market.
"It was great to see robust discussion about the 2026/2027 budget at the June Ordinary Council meeting," Clr Black said.
As Councillors we are committed to delivering for our community on financial sustainability and essential services whilst ensuring our region continues to thrive in the future.
The adopted 2026/2027 Budget, Delivery Program and Operational Plan and associated documents will be published on www.dubbo.nsw.gov.au from 1 July 2026.
