Councils Broaden Shared Immunisation Program

Shared media release between City of Casey, Cardinia Shire, and Baw Baw Shire Council

Since 2023, the City of Casey and Cardinia Shire Councils have engaged with Kernow Environmental Health & Immunisation to successfully deliver immunisation services to residents. This year, Baw Baw Shire Council has joined this collaborative effort, expanding the reach of immunisation services across the three municipalities.

Immunisation is one of the most effective ways to protect ourselves and our children from infectious diseases. Councils play a crucial role in delivering immunisation services especially to children within our communities.

The types of immunisation services provided by each Council include public immunisation sessions (primarily for 0-4 year-olds), secondary school immunisation programs, flu vaccination programs, and immunisation assessment and catch-up programs.

Council also offers Immunisation Assessment and Catch-up programs for individuals under 20 years of age, refugees, and other humanitarian entrants. It is estimated that more than 23,000 vaccines will be administered across the three councils in the 2025 program.
