Get ready to usher in 2024 with a bang as Rockhampton prepares to bid farewell to 2023 with Triple M's NYE Light Up the Sky this Sunday.
The community is in for a treat with two spectacular fireworks displays set against the stunning riverside precinct. The festivities kick off with a ten-minute fireworks display at 7:30pm, catering to those with early bedtimes. For those ready to ring in the New Year with a bang, another show is scheduled for midnight.
Attendees are encouraged to make the most of the occasion by enjoying a riverside dinner at one of the many food establishments in the CBD or from a selection of pop-up food vendors along Quay St 5.30pm – 8.15pm.
Road closures
For the safety of event organisers and the community, the below temporary road closures will be in place from 3:00pm Sunday 31 December 2023 until 12:30am Monday 1 January 2024.
- Quay Street between William and Denham Streets (reopening at 9:00pm)
- Reaney Street between Goodsall St and Callaghan Park
Motorists and pedestrians are asked to exercise caution and observe all signs and traffic directions.
