Cyclist dies in crash in Banksmeadow

Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a cyclist and two vehicles in Banksmeadow this evening, NSW Police say.

About 6.20pm today, a northbound Mitsubishi Triton utility and a cyclist collided on Denison Street, near the intersection with Corish Circuit, Banksmeadow.

After the collision the cyclist was then struck by a Toyota Tarago which was travelling in the same direction.

The male cyclist died at the scene. No further details are available on his identity.

The drivers of the two vehicles, both males, stopped and are assisting with inquiries.

They will be taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

Police from Botany Bay Local Area Command are in attendance and have established a crime scene which will be examined by forensic specialists.

Diversions are in place.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

Police are urging anyone with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers.
