Darwin Honors Seniors with August Events Calendar

Darwin City Council

Every August, the Northern Territory celebrates Seniors Month, a special time to honour the wisdom, experience and positive contributions of our senior community members.

City of Darwin is proud to support this celebration with a full calendar of free events for NT Seniors Card holders. From guided walks and sunrise yoga to origami workshops, movie screenings and educational sessions, there's something for everyone.

"These events are a fantastic opportunity for seniors to stay active, meet new people and enjoy the vibrancy of our community," said Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis. "We value the role older people play in shaping our city and are proud to offer inclusive activities that support connection, wellbeing and lifelong learning."

"We will have everything from a community support and advice group, native bees with Barry Conde and a very special Fun Bus Adventures with Grandparents," Mr Vatskalis said.

Details for each of the events can be found on the City of Darwin website or at your local library.

City of Darwin's commitment to seniors continues all year round, with a wide range of programs, services and welcoming spaces. From book clubs and digital literacy support in our libraries to the affordable fitness and wellbeing activities offered through Healthy Darwin, there's always something to enjoy.
