The Prime Minister has reappointed David Marks as Trustee to the National Gallery.
David Marks
David Marks is the co-founder of Brockton Everlast, a London-based real estate investment and development firm established in 2006. The firm has raised over £2.20bn in institutional capital, investing into (and occasionally re-developing) 370 properties across 22m sq ft, totalling over £7.5bn of asset value.
Brockton's current focus spans three areas; a 2.0m sf masterplan of labs and other innovation buildings on and adjacent to Cambridge Science Park; 1.0m sf of office development in central London, and; Fora, London's largest flex office operator, managing 3.1m sf and 38,000 desks hosting around 2,000 separate companies and start-ups across 70 buildings in a 50:50 partnership with Blackstone. David was a member of the Bank of England's Commercial Property Forum from 2006-2018 and was a Trustee of the Architecture Foundation from 2019-22. He has been a Trustee of the National Gallery since 2017 and a Board member of the OxCam Supercluster since 2023. David holds a Masters from MIT, Boston and a BA from the University of Manchester.
Remuneration and Governance Code
Trustees of the National Gallery are not remunerated. This appointment is not pensionable. These appointments have been made in accordance with the [Governance Code on Public Appointments (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/governance-code-for-public-appointments). The appointments process is regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments .
Under the Code, any significant political activity undertaken by an appointee in the last five years must be declared. This is defined as including holding office, public speaking, making a recordable donation, or candidature for election. David Marks has not declared any significant political activity.
