ADF teams dominated at the ADF Touch Football Championships, at Queensland's Gallipoli Barracks in October.

More than 300 competitors took part, including members from the New Zealand Defence Force and Queensland Police.

The competition culminated in a trans-Tasman match, with the ADF taking home the trophy after a 6-3 victory.

The Central Camels - made up of members from NSW, WA, Victoria and SA - claimed the title in both the senior division and women's opens grand final, while North Queensland won the men's opens.

Queensland defeated NSW in both the men's and women's state-of-origin matches.

Defence Touch Football Association Vice-President Major Pieter Brauns said the competition was a huge success.

"The turnout exceeded our expectations, and the contest in each division being highly competitive," he said.

"The atmosphere throughout the carnival, and particularly during the finals was fantastic. The strong spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship was evident throughout."

Major Brauns said the tournament fostered camaraderie while also letting the members flex their competitive spirit.

"By participating in sporting activities together, members of both forces build trust, understanding, and teamwork which serve as a reminder of the shared values and mutual respect that underpin our Defence partnership," he said.

Captain of the Central Camels Sergeant Nicole Hall said the tournament was an annual highlight.

She said the quality of the competition augured well for the future.

"I competed in my first tournament in 2005 and look forward to the competition every year," she said.

"It's a great opportunity to reunite with old friends, make new ones and to see the talent coming through."
