Delays to rubbish collection

Waverley Council

Waverley Council wishes to advise residents and businesses that rubbish collection may be delayed this week due to flooding along the waste transfer route via rail between Sydney and Woodlawn which is impacting waste collection for metropolitan Councils including Waverley.

Residents and businesses whose rubbish is due for collection are advised to leave bins for collection and they will be attended to as soon as possible over the coming days. Residents are not required to contact Council about individual waste collections.

Council is attending to repairs and safety issues as quickly as possible during this current severe weather situation. The quickest way to report an urgent problem, including potholes and fallen trees, is via the free Snap Send Solve app. You can also make a request here.

In the past week, officers have attended to several trees down in the area including in Ebley St, Bondi Junction, Gould Street, Bondi and Bronte Road, Bronte. The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a hazardous surf warning for the Sydney, Hunter, Illawarra, Batemans and Eden coasts until at least tonight, Wednesday 9 March. Sydney received between 120 to 150 mm of rainfall yesterday.
