"We're already the provider of the largest range of healthcare programmes in the South West, covering everything from medicine and dentistry, through to nursing, social care, paramedicine, physiotherapy and more. Last Friday's commitment to a 15-year plan that puts education at its heart is welcome news. The health service's promise around significantly increasing education and training to record levels includes increasing apprenticeships to deliver more doctors. This chimes with work we have been tasked with by Health Education England to develop ground-breaking new apprenticeships as a pathway for more people to enter the NHS.And, through initiatives like our vision to create a unique Medical Doctor Degree Apprenticeship, we are ahead of the game. Students come to us from all over the world to learn at our state-of-the-art facilities and in partner hospitals across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset, while September sees us launch a £33 million building in the heart of Plymouth as our new home for health professions."
