Bland Shire Council is pleased to announce the installation of new interactive digital kiosks in the West Wyalong Main Street and at McCann Park, providing a modern new way for both residents and visitors to access local information.
The double-sided kiosks, supplied by Just Digital Signage, will feature a range of community and tourism information, including local events, important notices, food and drink options, places to visit and things to do across the Bland Shire.
Funded through the NSW Government's Resources for Regions Round 9 program as part of the Bland Shire Community Amenity and Safety Program, the kiosks have been installed to improve access to information, support community connection and enhance the experience of spending time in West Wyalong.
Mayor Brian Monaghan said the kiosks would be a valuable resource for both locals and visitors.
"These new digital kiosks are a great addition to our Main Street and McCann Park, providing an easy and accessible way for people to find out what's happening across Bland Shire," Mayor Monaghan said.
"Importantly, they're not just for visitors. They will also be a useful tool for local residents, helping share information about upcoming events, activities, community notices and other important updates."
Mayor Monaghan said the kiosks would also help promote local businesses and attractions while strengthening communication with the community.
"Whether someone is looking for a place to eat, local attractions to explore, or simply wants to know what events are coming up, these kiosks will make that information more visible and accessible," he said.
"Projects like this help make our towns more connected, welcoming and informed, while also supporting local businesses, tourism and the wider community."
The project supports the objectives of Council's Main Street Revitalisation Plan by improving access to information, encouraging people to spend time in the town centre and helping create more connected, welcoming community spaces across the Bland Shire.
The digital kiosks are now operational and available for public use.
