Doctors oppose proposed paracetamol restrictions

ADRS

The Australian Doctors Reform Society (ADRS) today expressed opposition to the draconian restrictions on Australians access to paracetamol proposed by the Therapeutic Goods Authority (TGA).

"As doctors we know that the proposals by the TGA to restrict Australians access to the pain relieving medication paracetamol would cause unnecessary suffering for many of the 3 million chronic pain suffering Australians while doing very little to help those with mental problems who consider taking drug overdoses." said Dr Robert Marr OAM spokesman for the Australian Doctors Reform Society

"The ADRS calls on the Advisory Committee on Medicine Scheduling to reject the proposals from the TGA to further restrict Australians access to paracetamol."said Dr Marr
