City of Darwin has reopened the Dragonfly Carpark secure bicycle pod facility, giving cyclists travelling into Darwin CBD access to secure and convenient end-of-trip facilities.

The facility offers ten secure 24/7 access bicycle parking spots, with access to a shower and individual storage lockers.

The facility has reopened following infrastructure maintenance and supports City of Darwin's Movement Strategy, which aims to make it easier and safer for people to walk, ride and move around the municipality.

Lord Mayor Peter Styles said the reopening was another step towards creating a more connected and accessible city.

"City of Darwin is committed to supporting active lifestyles and providing infrastructure that encourages more people to choose sustainable transport options," Mr Styles said.

"The secure bicycle facility provides a practical and secure facility for cyclists travelling into the CBD and supports our broader vision for a more active and connected Darwin."

Permits are available on a monthly basis via the online portal and include access to an individual storage locker. Bicycle rack spaces are not allocated, allowing permit holders to use any available rack within the pod.
