Drug And Firearm Offences, Victoria Point

Detectives from Bayside Criminal Investigation Branch and Taskforce Maxima have charged a man with 13 offences following a drug and firearm investigation.

At approximately 7am on 8 July, police conducted a search warrant at a Creekside Circuit address in Victoria Point and took a man into custody.

Police will allege they located a loaded .22 firearm, a 3D printed firearm and illicit drugs (including cocaine, cannabis, and MDMA) at the address.

A 41-year-old Victoria Point man has been charged with four counts of possess dangerous drugs (Trenbolone, Steroids, Buprenorphine, Cocaine, Methylenedioxymethamphetamine, Cannabis and Gamma Hydroxybutyric Acid), two counts of possess utensils or pipes that had been used (spoon and pipes), and one count each of possess anything used in the commission of crime defined in Part 2 (digital scales), possess utensils or pipes etc for use (glass pipes), unlawful possession of weapons category M (knuckledusters, flick knife, butterfly knife and telescopic baton), unlawful possession of weapons category R (antipersonnel substance), unlawful possession of weapons category H (revolver handgun and 3D printed handgun), contravening order about information necessary to access information stored electronically, and authority required to possess explosives (ammunition).

He was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear before Cleveland Magistrates Court on August 7.

Detective Inspector Wayne Francis says the charges showcase the collaboration between policing units in their efforts to keep the community safe.

"There is no place for illicit drugs or weapons in our community. Police will continue to carry out targeted investigations to detect offences and hold alleged perpetrators to account."
