Drugs And Weapons Seized, Bayside

Bayside police have seized weapons, drugs, and cash in two separate jobs over the past week.

On 18 October, investigators conducted a search warrant at a Victoria Point address regarding an investigation into the manufacturing of firearms.

A search warrant was executed by police at a Willmott Street property where officers located manufacturing parts, gunpowder, fireworks, two paintball rifles, a replica airsoft, 3D guns and a knuckleduster.

During the search drugs, including methylamphetamine, MDMA, cannabis seeds, drug related utensils including glass smoking pipes and scales, and a quantity of cash were also located.

A 30-year-old Victoria Point man was charged with 13 offences including three counts of unlawful possession of weapons category H/R weapon, two counts each of unlawful possession of weapons category A/M, and possessing dangerous drugs schedule 1 quantity of or exceeding schedule 3 but less than schedule 4, and one count each of manufacture weapon whilst not licenced category H, offence in relation to unauthorised and prohibited explosives, possessing dangerous drugs, possess utensils or pipes etc for use, possess utensils or pipes etc that had been used, and possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under the Drugs Misuse Act.

He is expected to appear before Cleveland Magistrates Court on 11 November.

A 31-year-old Victoria Point woman was charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs schedule 1 quantity of or exceeding schedule 3 but less than schedule 4, and one count each of possessing relevant substance or things, possess utensils or pipes etc that had been used, and possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under the Drugs Misuse Act.

She is expected to appear before Cleveland Magistrates Court on 6 November.

The warrant was part of local police activity targeting illegal firearms during the National Firearms Week of Action.

Items seized in Victoria Point

In a separate job on 13 October, Cleveland general duties police conducted a search warrant at a Wellington Point address.

During the search, officers seized a quantity of ampetamines, subtux, drug paraphernalia and $40,000 cash.

A 33-year-old Wellington Point man and 26-year-old Woolloongabba woman were charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, and one count each possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under the Drugs Misuse Act, possess utensils or pipes etc for use.

The pair were remanded in custody.

The 33-year-old Wellington Point man is expected to reappear before Cleveland Magistrates Court on 23 October.

The 26-year-old Woolloongabba woman is expected to reappear before Cleveland Magistrates Court on 22 January 2026.
