ECB appoints Claudia Mann as Director General Statistics

The Executive Board of the European Central Bank (ECB) has appointed Claudia Mann as Director General Statistics. In her new role, Ms Mann will lead the Directorate General Statistics and steer the management and governance of data at the ECB to meet user demands in a digital and globalised world characterised by rapid financial innovation.

Ms Mann has been Director of Internal Audit since 2018 and was previously Deputy Director General Finance. Before joining the ECB in 2016, Ms Mann held managerial roles at Deutsche Bank and KPMG. She holds an MBA from the University of Tübingen and a degree in banking from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. She succeeds Silke Stapel-Weber, who is retiring but will continue to work as an adviser for the Integrated Reporting Framework project.

The Directorate General Statistics provides statistical products, services and a wide range of data to inform monetary policy and supervisory decisions at the ECB and to serve the general public. It collaborates closely with the EU national central banks and competent authorities, Eurostat, the banking industry, and other international bodies. ECB statistical data can be accessed via the ECB data portal.
