EducationWeek: Fewer teens appear to be vaping

A mix of remote learning and changing attitudes toward e-cigarettes among teens may be driving the decline of vaping, according an article in "Education Week".

While the 2021 data show an encouraging decline, there are still reasons for concern, said Ashley Merianos, an associate professor in the University of Cincinnati's School of Human Services

"The frequency of e-cigarette use patterns are less encouraging," she said.

Merianos is a prolific researcher adolescent substance use prevention, education, and counseling. The School of Human Services is in UC's College of Education, Criminal Justice and Human Services.
