Council is pleased to announce that the Eltham Leisure Centre aquatic facility will reopen today (Wednesday 10th June) at 10am.

To allow for the safe reopening of this very popular community asset, stringent measures have been put in place. The health and safety of the community and staff is our priority.

The reopening is therefore accompanied by the strictest safety measures, in line with the advice of the appropriate authorities.

These measures will include:

• Lap swimming and use of the warm water pool only.

• A limit of 20 people in the aquatics area with no more than three per lane

• 60-minute pre-booked, pay-as-you-go sessions via the Member Portal. If you do not have a current membership you will be able to book via a casual session link.

The further planned easing of state-wide restrictions on 22 June will also allow our facility manager, Aligned Leisure, to reassess its options to increase the availability of other services at the Eltham Leisure Centre that are currently on hold.

Each Council facility carries a different set of operational challenges. We are working through these respective challenges in order to reopen as soon as safely and practically possible - in line with State Government-mandated restrictions.

For those who hold memberships at other Council-owned facilities, memberships will be redeemable at the Eltham Leisure Centre, while these other facilities remain closed.

We will keep the community fully informed of any developments and Council would like to thank you for your patience and for your efforts in the fight to defeat this pandemic.
