Backgrounder

The Emergency Processing Fund is focused on supporting projects to help companies respond to the urgent health and safety needs of workers in agri-food sectors impacted by COVID-19.

Projects announced today under the Fund

Serres Toundra - Saint-Félicien, Quebec - $236,000

This investment will support the purchase of personal protective equipment (PPE), including a thermal camera for taking the temperature, a centralized disinfection system for your warehouse and hygiene stations.

Quebec Food Processing Council (CTAQ), Quebec - $145,500

  • $42,000 for Boucherie-Charcuterie Perron, Alma, Quebec
  • $17,500 for Charcuterie L. Fortin, Alma, Quebec
  • $86,000 for Nutrinor Cooperative, Alma, Quebec

This funding will support these Quebec processors to purchase personal protective equipment (PPE), adapt ventilation systems and reorganize warehouses to help ensure physical distancing of employees.
