Engineering Honors Rising Stars Shaping Future

The UConn College of Engineering recognized graduates of the last decade (GOLD) who inspire the world around them through their contributions to the field of engineering during the UConn Academy of Distinguished Engineers.

The UConn Academy of Distinguished Engineers event, held Thursday, May 21 in the UConn Alumni Center, honored College of Engineering alumni and friends whose careers have been characterized by their contributions to the engineering field through research, practice, education, policy, or service.

During the event, the College of Engineering also recognized graduates of the last decade (GOLD) who inspire the world around them through their contributions to the field of engineering with GOLD Rising Star Awards.

"It's an honor to present our newest alumni with this award," says Daniel Burkey, the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education and Diversity and Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. "They have already shown so much dedication to the engineering profession and all of us here at UConn Engineering are excited to see where they go next."
