Hundreds of community members flocked to Epping CFA's Get Fire Ready day over the weekend, taking advantage of a fun-filled and informative event designed to help households prepare for the upcoming fire season.

Families enjoyed a range of children's activities, while the popular sausage sizzle kept visitors well fed throughout the day.

The event brought together multiple emergency service agencies, giving attendees the opportunity to meet local responders, learn about their roles and discover how agencies work together during emergencies.

Visitors had access to a wealth of information and resources to help them get prepared for the upcoming season, including practical advice on creating fire plans, understanding local risks and taking simple steps to make homes and properties safer ahead of summer.

Epping CFA members were on hand to answer questions, showcase equipment and share valuable fire safety knowledge with the community.

Captain of the brigade, Liam Gallager, said he was pleased with the community's response.

"The strong turnout highlighted the community's commitment to being informed, prepared and resilient," Liam said.

"The event was a fantastic example of local emergency services and the community working together to ensure residents have the knowledge and tools they need to stay safe this fire season."

Epping CFA thanked everyone who attended and the agencies, volunteers and supporters who helped make the day such a success.
