More Land Unlocked For Homes At Ravenswood

Tasmanian Government

Nearly three hectares of land at Ravenswood in the State's North will be rezoned to deliver more housing to Tasmanians.

Approximately 2.7 hectares of land at Lot 1 Prossers Forest Road, Ravenswood will be rezoned after the Housing Land Supply (Ravenswood) Order 2026 passed the Parliament.

Minister for Housing and Planning, Kerry Vincent, said we have a plan to deliver more homes for Tasmanians.

"The rezoning of this land is part of our plan to deliver more housing opportunities in Northern Tasmania," Minister Vincent said.

"We know increasing housing supply is critical to improving housing affordability, ensuring Tasmanians have access to more housing options where they want to live.

"Unlocking more land is a key part of our Government's plan to support housing growth in communities right across the State.

"The rezoning at Ravenswood will support the delivery of approximately 25 residential lots."

Housing Land Supply Orders are an important mechanism for unlocking land identified as suitable for housing and bringing forward development opportunities.

"By increasing the supply of residential land in Ravenswood, we are delivering on our plan to create the conditions needed for more homes to be built in a well-connected community close to jobs, services, and amenities," Minister Vincent said.

"Providing Tasmanians with a safe, secure place to call home is a key part of our 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania's future."
