Three new exhibitions will open at the Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery next month.
Art Gallery Director Ian Tully said a new exhibition from the Shrine of Remembrance, Changed Forever: Legacies of Conflict will be displayed from Friday, 1 April - a fitting tribute in the lead up to ANZAC Day.
"Changed Forever interweaves stories of migrants from war-torn countries and recent veterans of overseas service, reflecting the range and depth of experiences of conflict."
"It is based on a collection of oral histories undertaken by the Shrine with Australian Defence Force veterans of recent conflicts and peacekeeping operations, and migrants to Australia who have come here because of conflict," Mr Tully said.
Mr Tully said the Gallery would also showcase Centric by Emma Samin along with an innovative fundraising project initiated by the Swan Hill branch of the Fight Cancer Foundation - this will see over sixty paintings (9 x 5 inches) by local artists exhibited and for sale.
"Emma Samin uses her art practices as a mindfulness tool for overcoming anxiety and depression, she explores the ancient and meditative zone of the mandala with the most intricate rendering of personalised symbols", noted Mr Tully.
"Our local partnership with Fight Cancer Foundation will give a voice to local artists, raise awareness of the fight against cancer and generate important revenue for the cause," Mr Tully said.
All three exhibitions will be open at the Swan Hill Regional Art Gallery from Friday, 1 April until Sunday, 15 May.
