Fatal motorcycle crash near Crookwell, NSW

A man has died following a fatal motorcycle crash near Crookwell, NSW Police say.

About 10.55am (Sunday 16 December 2018) a 69-year-old man was riding a motorcycle northwest on Junction Road, Crooked Corner, when near the intersection of the Tuena Creek Crossing, the rider failed to negotiate a left-hand bend and fell to the roadway.

The rider hit a guardrail and sustained fatal injuries.

Another motorcycle, being ridden by a 58-year-old man, was travelling southeast at the time. Investigations suggest the man may have taken evasive action before clipping the other motorcycle and coming off his bike.

He sustained shoulder and pelvic injuries and was airlifted to Canberra Hospital for treatment.

Police from The Hume Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
