A library for foodies in the Queen Victoria Market precinct is the first in a series of themed pop-up libraries that will open across the City of Melbourne.
The 'Feed Your Mind' library at 510 Elizabeth Street will feature author talks and workshops focused on good food, and encourage visitors to explore the offerings at Queen Victoria Market so they can dish up tasty meals.
The food-themed materials will be paired with content for a wider audience including fiction, events with writers and history walks. Every book in the 1400-item collection is brand new and ready to be borrowed for the first time.
The library will also feature the Make*It Space, where budding artisans and tech gurus can design their creations.
The pop-up library series is part of the $200 million Melbourne City Revitalisation Fund - a collaboration between the City of Melbourne and the Victorian Government.
'Feed Your Mind' will be open until mid-2022. A number of other themed pop-up libraries will be revealed this summer.

"Libraries were already cool, and now we're adding food and cooking to them - you won't be able to keep me away. These unique, themed pop-ups will attract new members while revitalising vacant shopfronts," the Lord Mayor said.
"The first pop-up will nourish your mind with knowledge about nutrition and cooking through more than just books.
"Budding chefs, university students and parents with mouths to feed can all get involved with workshops and book clubs, and learn from our wonderful librarians.
"I encourage all city visitors to get inspired at our pop-up library and then visit Queen Victoria Market to pick up some fresh fruit and veggies - what an iconic Melbourne experience."

"The pop-up library series will provide active spaces for the community to relax, connect and exchange knowledge and ideas," Cr Hakim said.
"Feed Your Mind will offer an exciting opportunity for creatives to gather and hone their skillsets, with technical equipment available for everyone to use.
"The Make*It Space will offer sewing machines, laser cutters and badge makers as well as borrowable items including robotics kits, microphones and drawing tablets."
