Yarra Ranges Council bringing the festive cheer this season!
Find your Reason this Season in Yarra Ranges is Council's festive campaign, celebrating everything the region has to offer over the holiday season.
The heart of the campaign lies in supporting our local community and businesses, celebrating that you can find everything you need right here in Yarra Ranges; from unique gifts and delicious food to seasonal experiences that will become tradition.
"The Christmas and summer holiday period are so important to our residents, and to our local businesses," said Mayor Jim Child.
"This year is especially important as our businesses can trade without restrictions or COVID Safe requirements, visitors are returning, and after the months of rain and flooding, our community is looking forward to some sunshine and a chance to come together and reconnect."
"No matter how you celebrate, you'll find your reason to do so in Yarra Ranges – whether it's time with friends in our beautiful landscape exploring our many ridges and rivers, like ngurrak barring RidgeWalk, or taking a bike ride along some of our 200kms of trails, planning a locally sourced feast or making memories with your family.
"We're so proud that everything you need for the festive season is right here in Yarra Ranges – from Christmas tree farms to berry picking, to our world-class wineries, gourmet food and unique local retailers or experiencing one of our many outdoor activities" said Cr Child.
Council is excited to be hosting the annual Christmas Window competition, helping to support our townships to bring festive cheer to the retail areas. Our local community and trader groups are holding twilight markets, special events and street parties; Our Enjoy Local Calendar is capturing these events across the municipality.
Wishing Trees are up in the Civic Centre and in our Community Links, supporting local charities including Holy Fools, local food banks and Animal Aid. Residents can drop off donations of toys, non-perishable goods and even pet food at any community link to be distributed.
