Former teachers charged with offences against children

Child Abuse Squad detectives have charged two men as part of their ongoing investigation into alleged historical child sexual abuse incidents by former teachers.

It will be alleged between 1982 and 1986, the men sexually assaulted two girls who were aged between 14 and 16 at the time they were first abused. It will be alleged the incidents occurred when the men were teachers at a private college in the metropolitan area and the victims were students of the men.

A 72-year-old man from White Gum Valley has been charged with:-

• Three counts of Unlawfully and Indecently Assaulted Another Person Section 324B Criminal Code (Repealed); and

• One count of Carnal Knowledge of a Female under 17 years by a Guardian Section 190 Criminal Code (Repealed).

A 68-year-old man from Mosman Park has been charged with:-

• One count of Rape Section 325 Criminal Code (Repealed).

They are both due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday, 28 July 2020.
