Four Biker Gang Members Face Traffic Offence Charges

Four outlaw motorcycle gang members will be proceeded against for traffic related offences after they were intercepted by police on the Midlands Highway north of Oatlands around 10.45am today.

The four men were each riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle while under the influence of drugs (each returned a positive result on a roadside oral fluid test) and they were not licensed (2 x unlicenced riders, 1 x suspended rider, 1 x disqualified rider).

Two of the motorcycles were unregistered and subsequently had their plates seized by police.

A 52-year-old man and 53-year-old man from Perth, and a 39-year-old man and 34-year-old man from Mowbray, will all be proceeded against by summons.

"Tasmania Police is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our community and we will continue to proactively target and disrupt people who are members of criminal organisations," said Senior Sergeant Mark Williams.

"These driving behaviours put other road users at rick – criminal and anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated in our state."
