Campaspe Shire Council is delighted to host a free, hands-on workshop designed to strengthen customer service and enhance the visitor experience across the region on Wednesday, 17 June.
Delivered by the Institute of Excellence, the workshop focuses on practical techniques to help customer-facing staff create more engaging and memorable experiences for visitors.
Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Daniel Mackrell said creating positive visitor experiences plays a key role in supporting the region's economy.
"Visitors spend more when their experience feels welcoming, thoughtful and memorable. That gives local businesses a real opportunity to add value through the way they connect with people," he said.
The session will be facilitated by Despina Karatzias, founder of the Institute of Excellence. With more than 20 years' experience in tourism and small business, she brings practical insights as a certified trainer, business coach and host of the Tourism Hub Podcast.
The workshop aims to demonstrate proven engagement techniques and insights grounded in Experience Economy principles and Visitor Servicing Frameworks, combined to guide frontline staff in creating welcoming experiences that encourage longer stays and repeat visits.
The mayor said that a shared regional effort benefits businesses, locals, and visitors alike.
"Helping visitors get more out of their time in Campaspe is good for everyone.
"Simple techniques like better conversations and local referrals can lead to longer stays, more spending and stronger flow-on benefits for local businesses and our community." Cr Mackrell added.
Local businesses and visitor-facing staff are encouraged to register early to secure a place.
"This is a free opportunity to pick up practical ideas that can be implemented straight away, so I'd encourage businesses to get involved." he said.
