Galvin Park's new art installation brings the finishing touch and a contemporary feel to the recently updated sporting facilities.

Wyndham City's Creative City portfolio holder Marcel Mahfoud said: "The fabulous artwork features three illuminated panels which are installed on the outside of the pavilions, creating a unique visual backdrop which adds to the ambience for pavilion users and residents."

"The installation consists of three slimline LED lighting panels behind the artwork which is designed and printed onto reinforced glass sheets and housed in a custom-made aluminium and steel frame."

"The artwork was developed based on feedback from residents and user groups."

"Residents wanted the artwork to foster a sense of community and place, safety and warmth and for the new buildings to be integrated into the natural surroundings with an environmentally sensitive design."

"The artwork provides a sense of connection between the pavilion and the sporting grounds."

Australian artist Al Stark was selected as the artist to deliver the project.

Al hand-painted three panels at his studio, working alongside Thylacine Design Studios. Al's artwork was digitally printed onto glass using a ceramic pigment that is toughened with the glass in a furnace.
